Evidence that the Muppet brand is just about to get hipper with current crowds, news arrive that Lady Gaga will make an appearance in their new movie.
Rounding out Gaga’s entourage in the film, are funny men Eric Stonestreet (“Modern Family”), John Krasinski (“The Office”) and Ed Helms (“The Office,” “Hangover”).
There’s no question that Gaga is a fan of the frog in green. She wore a dress made out of Kermit the Frogs during a German TV interview. Also, she took Kermit as her date to the 2009 Video Music Awards.
Earlier announced as part of the Muppet cast: Jane Lynch as a prison guard and “Machete” man Danny Trejo and Upright Citizens Brigade player Donald Glover.
The new Muppet movie will get released next Christmas, their last installment being 1999’s “Muppets From Space.” ($17 million)
